Read this before you pay

  • A name here is not an official name.

A name you choose here is shown on AstraPixels only. It is not an IAU designation, it is not submitted to the International Astronomical Union or to any other body, and no observatory, catalogue or star chart will recognise it. Official minor-planet names are assigned by the IAU and cannot be bought.

  • Permanent, with exactly one exception.

There is no renewal and no expiry date. The exception is dead links: if the URL you supply fails 3 consecutive monthly checks the claim is marked derelict and renders as an abandoned rock, and if it is still derelict 90 days later the body returns to inventory and can be bought by somebody else. Making the URL answer again at any point before that clears it automatically.

  • You send us the artwork after you pay, not now.

Stripe asks for your email. We send that address a link to a short form for your brand name, the URL it points at, an optional logo and tagline, and a name for the body if you want one. It works once and expires after 90 days. If it does not arrive, nicklaunches28@gmail.com is a person who will send another.

  • Nothing appears on the map until a person approves it.

What you send goes into a moderation queue that a human reads. Your brand, logo, tagline, colour and chosen name render nowhere until it is approved, and you get an email either way.

  • Your position is held for the checkout, then released.

Pressing the button below holds this exact position for 30 minutes so nobody else can pay for it while you are on Stripe. Abandon the checkout and it goes back on sale with nothing charged.

The terms and content policy are the binding version of all of this, including the refund window.

Pressing this takes you to Stripe, which asks for your email. We send the artwork form to that address straight afterwards, and it is how we reach you about this claim from then on.

Card details are handled by Stripe. We never see them.

No account needed. Stripe asks for your email, we send the artwork form there, and that address is how we reach you about this claim afterwards.
